Examining the Words of Jack Ma

Jack Ma, the founder of Alibaba made some harsh but sincere statements about poor people. Seriously, what Jack Ma said about poor people is just too true. He put the words in the best possible way. I've decided to drop a thing or two about it.

His comment below,

'Jack Ma, founder of Alibaba said "The worst people to serve are the Poor people. Give them free, they think it's a trap. Tell them it's a small investment, they'll say it can't earn much. Tell them to come in big, they'll say no money. Tell them try new things, they'll say no experience. Tell them it's traditional business, they'll say hard to do. Tell them it's a new business model, they'll say it's MLM. Tell them to run a shop, they'll say no freedom. Tell them run new business, they'll say no expertise.
They do have some things in common:
They love to ask google, listen to friends who are as hopeless as them, they think more than a university professor and do less than a blind man.
Just ask them, what can they do. They won't be able to answer you.'

Without much ado, Jack Ma says that the poor people are difficult to serve, in his own opinion :
Give them free, they think it's a trap : Well, it's true. People are way too sceptical. They always think there is more to things that they appears. A poor man wants to be smart, he doesn't want to fall into traps not knowing that poverty itself is a big trap that is hard to break from.

My thought: It's a poor man that should risk more. What does he have to lose? Poverty maybe (smiles)

Tell them it's an investment, they say they can't earn much : Yes. He is very right. Many poor people don't invest. They would rather keep savings, live less instead of living big and save more again. But when you save a dollar, it will still be a dollar ten years from now.

My thought : Why not save a dollar and yield 1.5$ ten years from now. No matter how small it is, it is far better.
Poor people should invest more.

Tell them to come in big, they'll say no money : Well, getting capital can be difficult for a poor man. But the main question should be 'how many have tried to source for capital?

My thought : Nothing is wrong in seeking for capital. Start something and ask for capital later. Start small seek for more capital later. This way, investors will be happy to help.

Tell them it's traditional business, they'll say hard to do : Jack ma is on point

My thought : What is easy? Definitely not poverty

Tell them it's a new business model, they'll say it's Multimedia level marketing (MLM) - Pyramid marketing is the new business strategy. I've been one of those against it, in fact i discourage many. I have many reasons though as many a time it is a fluke. However, i have friends making it with MLMs

My thought :Just do it. It is better than nothing
Tell them to run a shop, they'll say no freedom: this is just one of the many excuses we deliver why trying to do nothing.

My thought on this : There should be no excuse for a man.
Tell them run new business, they'll say no expertise : This is one the biggest excuses people give. Not just the poor but also the rich people. It has happened to me several time. When i wanted to start blogging, i said i don't know anything, i could've learn something about blogging, web designing but i was fixed with the excuse that I don't have the expertise.

My thought : Learn to do it if you don't know it. Ignorance is not bliss in business, even in any area of life. If you don't know something, simply learn how to do it. Doing it and learning through it will finally make you an expert.

Jack Ma's Conclusion:
Instead of your heart beats faster, why not you just act faster a bit; instead of just thinking about it, why not do something about it. Poor people fail because of one common behavior:
Their Whole Life is About Waiting."

Mine :
Well, he is right. We spend our whole life waiting for the perfect time, waiting for the perfect opportunity but the fact is this, perfect doesn't exist. The future is now. The perfect time is now. If you want to do something, do it now. If you want to learn something, start now. Like Nike, just do it. Time doesn't wait for us, why should we?

    1. Thanks Chang Fong for the lovely insult. You've seen just one video and you've wrongly assumed that is all there is. Check on youtube and internet and you can come back with your apologies which I have accepted already in advance. Next time you want to insult a blogger, do your homework well. Thank You and God bless.
